Indications For Medical Diathermy
Shortwave Diathermy is effective when deep heating of body tissues is desired. Beneficial effects include decreased joint stiffness, increased vasodilation, muscle spasm relief and reduced pain from ligamentous sprains and strains. Often, a regimen of manipulation and exercise is prescribed with medical diathermy to produce optimal therapeutic benefits.

Cantraindications
Shortwave Diathermy should not be used in body areas with impaired circulation or nerve sensation, in individuals with pacemakers or metal implants, on metal treatment tables, or over the pregnant uterus.
